Ari Friedman

Ari is a queer traumedy writer, director and clown who grew up in an Ultra-Orthodox Jewish-Guatemalan home, only to turn around at 25 and get her hands and arms tattooed like a "sick little gay witch" (her preferred pronouns). She recently co-wrote the penultimate series finale episode of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. She has worked as a writers' assistant in both comedy and drama rooms including TREK, THE COOL KIDS on FOX and BLESS THIS MESS on ABC. Ari's writing explores the importance and fallacy of one's identity, wrapped in levity and humor. The rumors are true, Ari was kicked out of a seminary at the ripe age of 19.
